Membrane Solutions is aware that some customers use our products in processes which contaminate the products with radioactive, biological, and/or, hazardous chemical substances. Please understand that without your cooperation, our facilities do not know what hazardous substances might be present in a product returned for service. In addition, our facilities often do not have the protective equipment or ability to safely repair or service these products when they are returned. If a unit has been contaminated with, or contains a hazardous (radioactive, biological, or chemical) substance, we may not be able to accept the unit for repair. Depending on the particular hazardous substance involved, the unit may be returned to one of our facilities, if it has been thoroughly and properly cleaned and decontaminated. Membrane Solutions is unable to service or repair any products that have been exposed to radioactive materials.
To determine whether you can return your product for repair, telephone Membrane Solutions Technical Service (U.S.A.) at (800-553-9057). The technical service representative will send a decontamination certificate to be completed, indicating:
If Membrane Solutions has the appropriate facilities and protective equipment available, we will accept the unit for service. If you return a unit to us for service under these guidelines, you must comply with all applicable provisions of the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard, including the requirement to supply a Material Safety Data Sheet.
