Main Components
Depth Fiter Sheets are made from pure natural materials including cellulose, natural filter aid diatomaceous earth, and wet strength resin through wet papermaking process. According to different fitration process requirements and initial liquid properties, cellulose sheets present diferent structural characterstics, such as different removal ratings (nominal pore size), thickness, and wet strength, to meet customer needs.
The material composition of sheets makes they naturally carry a large amount of positive charges. Therefore, during depth sheets fltration, the removal mechanism of particles in the liquid not only indudes mechanical sceening and inertial interception, but also includes charge adsorption and other functions. This allows the depth sheets filter medium to greatly improve the retention of smaller particles to ensure the clarification of the filter liquid, on the premise of ensuring the retention effciency of particles greater than or equal to the nominal pore sie. At the same time, the large number of pore structures formed by fiber entanglement in celluose sheets ensure the space for dirt and scale accumulation in the filter medium, improve the service life of the flter in the face of complex materials, and save the cost of use for end customers.

Flow time is a time index used to evaluate the removal ratings of the filter, the time taken for 50 ml pure water to pass through the 10 cm² filter at 3 kPa pressure and 25℃. The removal ratings of the depth filter sheets are measured indirectly by the flow rate. The relationship between pore size and flow rate is validated by experiment. The nominal pore sizes in this table are for guidance only. The actual retention rate depends on the particle nature and distribution in the feed solution, the solvent and other factors, so testing is usually required when making sheets removal rating selection.
Installation and Operation Instructions
Depth filter sheets need to be handled carefully when inserting the plate and frame filter. Avoid knocking, bending, and friction, and do not use damaged depth filter sheets. The depth filter sheets have rough and smooth surfaces, with the rough surface being the feed surface and the smooth surface being the filtrate surface. When inserting sheets, make sure that the filtrate side is in contact with the transparent filtrate plate.
Minimum Required Pre-treatment Flushing
Sheets are mainly composed of natural products, and trace amounts of resin, cellulose fibers, and natural extractables will be released during use. Therefore, the filter must be flushed before the first filtration, and the minimum pre-treatment flushing volume required for all sheets is 50 L/m². The flushing time usually takes 10-20 minutes, and the cleaning should continue until the water passing through the filter is clear and free of impurities. It can be flushed with water at temperatures and pressures not exceeding the maximum product specifications. Test the entire filter for leakage at maximum working pressure.
Disinfect
Sheets can be disinfected with saturated steam or hot water. The compressed filter assembly should be slightly loosened. Ensure thorough disinfection of the entire filtration system. Do not apply final pressure before the filter pack cools down. The actual required time may vary depending on the process conditions.
- Disinfect with Hot Water
Temperature:185°F(85°℃)
Duration:30 minutes after the temperature of all valves reaches 185°F(85°C).
Pressure:At least 50kPaat the outlet of the flter.
- Steam Sterilization
Quality: Steam must be free of foreign paticles and impurities
Temperature: up to 249.8°F(121°C) (saturated steam)
Duration: Approximately 20 minutes after steam escapesfrom all ilter valves
Flushing: If the filter is steam sterilized before use, the product must be pre-treated and flushed with 50 L/m²of water after steriization
Waste Treatment
Due to their composition, the depth fiter sheets are 100% biodegradable. Unused sheets can be disposed of together with regular household waste. Used sheets mustbe treated according to thetype of contamination.
Storage Period and Conditions
The product must behandled with care during transportation and storage, and the sheets should not be exposed to direct sunlight. Sheets must be stored in their original packaging and in a dry, odorless and well ventilated area. In no case with or near evaporated chemicals, oils, fuels, etc.It is recommended to use these sheets within 36 months after the production date.
Forms of Supply
For other special format or size requirements, you can contact sales for consultation, such as rectangular boards, circular boards, boards with various holes, and other customized cutting.
Packaging
The filter sheets are packaged in sanitary plastic bags and placed in cardboard boxes.
