FAQ
1. Do nylon membranes come with a backing?
Maborei’s nylon membranes are available with or without a backing. The backing material for the backed membranes is primarily PET, though HOP is also available;
2. What pore sizes are available for nylon membranes?
Maborei’s supported nylon membranes are available in the following pore sizes: 0.05 μm, 0.10 μm, 0.22 μm, 0.45 μm, 0.65 μm, 0.8 μm, 1.0 μm, 3.0 μm, 5.0 μm, and 10.0 μm.
3. Does Maborei offer positively charged nylon membranes?
Maborei offers positively charged nylon membranes. These are produced by applying a positive charge modification to the surface of supported nylon membranes, causing the membrane surface to become saturated with positively charged groups. This provides adsorption and retention capabilities for negatively charged particles and microorganisms, making them particularly widely used in the field of endotoxin removal.
4. Can nylon membranes remove bacteria?
Maborei’s 0.22 μm nylon membranes with a support layer demonstrate a bacterial retention efficiency against Pseudomonas aeruginosa that meets LRV7 standards; we are currently developing a bacterial removal validation guide.
5. What widths are available for nylon membranes?
Currently, Maborei’s standard nylon membranes are primarily available in widths of 270 mm and 300 mm, with select pore sizes available in widths of 500–550 mm.
6. What test reports are available for nylon membranes?
Currently, Maborei can provide test reports for its nylon membranes, including bubble point and flow rate test reports, MSDS, pore size distribution reports, SEM images, FITR, HPLC, NVR, bacterial retention efficiency test reports, USP 87, and more.
7. Are there FDA reports for nylon membranes?
Currently, Maborei can provide SGS FDA test reports for all its nylon membranes, including supported nylon membranes, unsupported nylon membranes, and positively charged nylon membranes.
8. What type of nylon resin is used for the nylon membranes?
Currently, Maborei’s supported nylon membranes and positively charged nylon membranes are made from 100% Nylon 66, while unsupported nylon membranes are made from Nylon 6.
9. How does the nylon membrane perform in terms of acid and alkali resistance?
Maborei’s nylon membranes have been tested and confirmed to remain unaffected in terms of morphology and basic performance after 24-hour immersion in aqueous solutions with a pH range of 2–13 at room temperature.
10. Can you provide samples of the nylon membrane?
We currently offer free A4-sized samples of the nylon membrane.
