Product Description

MS PES hydrophobic membranes are treated to make their hydrophobic surfaces perfectly liquid repelling. The hydrophobic modification uses environmentally friendly substances, and the whole process does not contain PFAS. Even under high humidity, outstanding air permeability is guaranteed to assure rapid venting at low differential pressure. The highly asymmetric membrane pore structure provides high flow rate at low pressure drop. An additional specific feature of these membranes is their excellent gamma compatibility. In contrast to other common polymeric matrices for venting and gas filtration, such as PTFE, MS PES membranes can be sterilized by gamma irradiation, making them also best suited for the most demanding applications like medical devices.

Features

Hydrophobic PES membranes are more breathable than PVDF membranes, and their inherent strong gamma tolerance is more stable than PTFE membranes, which can remove polluting particles and microorganisms in gases, and are mainly used for sterilization and filtration of air and gases, which can effectively keep the system sterile and breathable.

  • Excellent hydrophobicity
  • High air velocity
  • Gamma irradiation, alkaline rinse sterilization, and autoclave resistance
  • Reliable retention of particles, aerosols and microorganisms
  • High heat and mechanical resistance
  • Passed 107 CFU/cm2 Brevundimonas diminuta (ATCC 19146) retention test
  • No release of insoluble particulate matter to meet USP 788 requirements; Low dissolution and precipitation, in accordance with USP 661 requirements
  • Biosafety meets USP 87 < in vitro cytotoxic > and USP 88 Class VI < implantable medical raw material > standards

Product advantage:

  • Strong hydrophobicity
  • Asymmetric structure
  • Effective chemical resistance
  •  High temperature resistance
  • Gamma irradiation sterilization
  • PFAS free
  • Bacterial retention ≥107cfu/cm2

Applications

  • Ventilation caps
  • Sterilization ventilation of cell culture flasks and bottles, bioreactors, and fermenters
  • Liquid blocking device
  • Aseptic filling air filtration
  • Ventilation filters in medical devices
