Bottled water is drinking water (e.g., well water, distilled water, or spring water) packaged in plastic or glass water bottles. Bottled water may be carbonated or not. Sizes range from small single serving bottles to large carboys for water cooler.
The global bottled water sales have increased dramatically over the past several decades, reaching a valuation of around $60 billion and a volume of more than 115,000,000 cubic metres (3.0×1010 US gal) in 2006 U.S. sales reached around 30 billion bottles of water in 2008, a slight drop from 2007 levels.
The global rate of consumption more than quadrupled between 1990 and 2005. Spring water and purified tap water are currently the leading global sellers. By one estimate, approximately 50 billion bottles of water are consumed per annum in the U.S. and around 200 billion bottles globally.

The filter Cartridge is designed to perform several functions in a single cartridge. At the heart of the cartridge is a carbon briquette, formed from powdered activated carbon combined with a specially designed media for lead reduction. In addition to lead reduction, the unique formation of the carbon block enables it to reduce Cryptosporidium and Giardia cysts and fine sediment particles down to 0.5 microns. The cartridge is more effective at reducing levels of chlorine, and certain volatile organic compounds (VOCs), than granular activated carbon cartridges.
Membrane Solutions’ filter cartridges offer solutions to a wide range of water quality concerns, including sediment, bad taste & odor, chlorine taste & odor, and well water applications. Some also reduce lead, cysts, and VOCs (volatile organic compounds) which are hazardous to health.
The polypropylene outer wrap helps reduce coarse sediment particles, effectively extending the useful life of the cartridge.
