Power Generation

With the continuous expansion of the construction scale of large thermal power units, the parameters and capacity of the units are continuously improved, and the chemical water treatment of power plants is also undergoing profound changes. The impetus for this change mainly comes from the requirements of high-parameter and large-capacity units for water quality and the need for environmental protection. The emergence and application of new water treatment technologies and materials provide the possibility for the development of power plant water treatment technology. In addition, in the fierce electricity market competition, each power plant is under the pressure to reduce staff and increase efficiency, facing the need to optimize and reorganize the production process. Under the action and influence of the above factors, profound changes have taken place in the selection of technologies for chemical water treatment of power plants.
The global demand for electricity continues to accelerate, especially in fast-growing regions such as China, India and the Middle East. In order to save money while meeting emission regulations, it is essential to fully explore alternative solutions while maximizing the use of existing fuel resources. Membrane Solutions can help increase your power generation by using cost-effective and regulatory compliant water treatment technologies.

Boiler Feed Water Treatment

The main task of boiler feed water treatment is to ensure the supply of demineralized water with sufficient quantity and qualified quality, so as to ensure the safe and economical operation of the unit. The main function of boiler feed water treatment system is to get demineralized water to meet the safe, economical and stable operation of thermal power generating units after pre-treatment, pre-desalination and desalination process. The purpose of water pre-treatment is mainly to remove mud and sand, clay, humus and colloidal particles from raw water. Because the hydrological conditions are quite different from place to place, water quality varies, the technological processes used are different, such as stick coagulation treatment, sedimentation and clarification treatment, filtration and adsorption treatment, etc. The application of pre-desalination treatment system is that when the salt content of raw water is high, in order to reduce the burden of ion exchange devices, the pre-desalination treatment of electrodialysis or reverse osmosis should be used.

Cooling Tower Water Treatment
Cooling towers for the installation of generators in power generation facilities require a consistent and reliable source of water that is cost-effective and sustainable. In many cases, cooling tower water must be purified through filter hoses to remove solids and handle organic matter. With properly treated water, the potential for scaling in the cooling tower is significantly reduced, which also reduces the cleaning requirements of the cooling circuit, extends the service life of the cooling equipment, and reduces the flow of cooling tower discharge to the environment.

Condensed Water Treatment
Condensed water is collected and then used as boiler feed water. Before reusing, the condensed water must be purified through a condensate refining filter to remove impurities that could cause damage to boilers, steam generators, reactors and turbines.

Process flow:
Condenser → Condensate Pump → Pre-filter (depending on the size of the unit) → High-speed Mixed Bed → Low Feed Water System

The role of the pre-filter: remove iron, copper oxide and colloidal and suspended impurities in the condensed water, protect the high-speed mixed bed resin from being polluted, and ensure the long-term safe operation of high-speed mixed bed in high flow rate.

In power plant water treatment, the degree of automation is relatively high, and the filter cartridge is mainly used in the pre-filtration of feed water and cooling water and the pre-filtration of condensed water. After understanding the process needs of customers, Membrane Solutions provides customers with stable and reliable products for a long time, and can provide perfect filter cartridge process validation.
