Sulphate Removal
Sulphate Removal
While part of high sulphate ions of produced water, brackish water or seawater are used for injected water, the sulphate ions react with any barium and strontium in the formation water to form as insoluble compounds that will eventually plug the well and then reduce the oil production. The use of nanofiltration (NF) membrane to efficiently remove scale-forming sulphate ions from injected seawater or produced water has become common in oil & gas industry.
